[Fan Art] Band AU (cont.)

Title: The Sort-Of Trailer Thing

Characters: Sawada Tsunayoshi, Gokudera Hayato, Yamamoto Takeshi, Hibari Kyouya, Chrome Dokuro
Warnings: Content-wise, none. Quality-wise...
Notes: I know I promised backstage comics. These are not it. Um, quick TYL!BandAU doodle-comic, anyone? (Though it's not even that, because this is the part of Band AU where they aren't in the band anymore.)

This is the result of reading Nana and staying up late, simultaneously and to the same unhealthy extent. I intended to scan in the backstage stuff, and maybe the short manga preview of the band's formation, but Nana's infamous flashforwards and TYL took over my mind.
Thus this was born, in an extended moment of late night insanity.

I was reluctant to put this up because it makes no sense, comprising mostly of quick doodles and cheesy nonsensical lines dumped into a mixer and stirred until they frothed. And did I mention angsty flashforward a la Nana?

wow O_o!!!! that's awesome, really good! I use to watch Nana's movie, but never read it. But this is really good, and I can't feel the emotion into the lyrics.

The Nana manga is much more exciting than the movie, and really worth a read.

Lyrics? I won't dare to call them lyrics, because I can't write those even if my life depends on it. (Actually, I can't write. Period.) ^^;;

This is just a mock trailer. If I continue, it will turn into a full-blown doujinshi and I'm not sure I will survive that. O_O

We never saw how Chrome would look like when she's older, so I really wanted to try drawing that. I'm glad you liked it. :D

THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT. XD I'll be needing it if I intend to survive drawing everything else I have in mind for this universe. D:

I read that series way too much. So much that all the Japanese lines were dancing around in my head as I drew this, like some kind of built-in soundtrack. T_T

OMG. I love you so much right now. Nana!Flashforwards, while confusing, are epic. I love the first page most of all because of the composition and the text and SDGKSKGJSHG.

My favorite is everything 8Db

I really love the way Yazawa-sensei narrates. It just sticks in your mind. (I'm a huge sucker for confusing storylines.)

I'm glad you liked this! :D I must admit, I too like the first page most. I got steadily lazier as I went on, as usual.

Thanks for the compliments! I was thinking of doing a short doujin for this fandom (not necessarily of this universe), but I'll certainly be posting more art in general.

I used Garamond for the speech bubbles, and this strange font that calls itself Epson-Futo-Gyosho for the narration. I think the latter is actually an Asian font, but I can't be sure.

Thank you! :D That's my guess too. (It's a little embarrassing, but I don't always know what I'm drawing. I have Vague Ideas, but it stops at that half the time.)

I have a trailer for a story that doesn't exist. D: There are half-formed ideas, but the actual sequence of events is still foggy at best. I'm hoping that a full version will materialize in time, though. XD (In the meantime, feel free to fill in the gaps with your own imagination. ^^)

I really like yer TYL!Chrome. And and and, I don't know if it's just me and my dark imagination but ye know, the second panel's background made me reminded me of a graveyard and--*/shot.

(I appreciate the support! I'll depend on it, providing that this idea doesn't kill me first. XD)

The frightening thing is that, while I didn't intend the second panel to resemble a graveyard, I was doodling graves in the background of Chrome's panel (before I decided it might be a bit too morbid and erased it). So it's not just you, it's cross-fandom telepathy. *nods seriously*

Nana is a really awesome series about rock bands, but the highlights are the narrative techniques (flashforwards!) and the characters. The former of which is the inspiration for this.

Every time I try to do crack, it somehow degenerates into angst, or something similar. When I don't try, though, the crack will infect everything. So there will definitely be crack, just that I can't tell when. ^^

I won't be surprised if this causes confusion, since this is a whole collection of hints at some kind of plot, without the actual plot itself. ^^; A lot of guess work is required to make any sense of it.
